“Finding Peace Underwater”: Here’s my Diving Story with BOD 🤿
Pre-Dive Experience: “Why Scuba
7 Feb 2020Have a little adventurer under 10 years old itching to dive? Here are 5 Reasons Why your child should join our PADI Seal Team!
1. Our PADI Seal Team course is specially designed for kids 8 and 9 years old. In 5 fun and interactive pool sessions, young children are trained on how to be confident and safe in the water while encouraging their curiosity and love for learning about the underwater world.
2. Students will learn the basics of scuba diving through an array of games and playful exercises to keep things engaging and educational.
3. The PADI Seal Team program teaches responsibility and respect for the aquatic realm.
4. PADI Seal Team also includes doing some cool AquaMissions in the pool, meeting friends, and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world.
5. By completing all of the AquaMissions and Specialty AquaMissions your child will become a PADI Master Seal Team Member – joining an elite group of young scuba divers!
Training kids to be competent, safe, and curious divers is one of the things we most love doing at Big Ocean Dive. Kids as young as eight can begin in the classroom and pool as PADI Seal Team to prepare for the Junior Open Water Diver course when they turn 10. We also offer fun Day Camps for kids to try out diving in Kuala Lumpur. A 5 consecutive pool session to get 8 and 9-year-olds excited about scuba diving. Fun sessions learning the basics of scuba skills and fun games in the pool. Is your kid adventurous at a young age? Let them become part of the PADI Seal Team!
You'll start your adventure with 5 consecutive pool sessions of 1.5 hours each. The start of this session is to introduce the children with theory in a fun, and engaging way.
They'll learn about the aquatic realm, develop skills that are required of you as a diver, and much more!
On each 1.5-hour pool session, 1 hour is used to feel and experience the practical side of the course.
Each practical setting during your pool session is based on what is discussed in your theory. This creates consistency, but also confidence when entering the water for the first time. Fun and engaging activities, introduction to equipment, and much more!
To become an official PADI Seal Team member, you must complete the first 5 of 15 AquaMissions. After your program and if you still wish to continue. You may conquer the other 10 missions. Including the ability to assemble and disassemble their Scuba gear. When all 15 AquaMission are completed, you will be qualified as a PADI Master Seal Team member!
There are 3 theory sessions (1 1/2 hours each) and 3 confined pool training sessions (3 hours each) that you will need to complete before sitting for your online exam.
There is not, but we advise you to complete your online exam as soon as you can while your memory is still fresh.
Unfortunately you can’t, for safety reasons you will need to complete the Open Water Course before proceeding with your Advanced Open Water Course.
Yes it is possible to complete your Theory and pool sessions within 3 days – but we highly advise not to. Unless you are able to catch up and learn fast.
It is not advisable to complete all your pool sessions in a day as each pool session is around 2 – 3 hours. Plus, it’ll be best for you to take a short break, work on what you’ve learnt, then only proceed to the next session. Taking it 1 step at a time is always better than doing it all at once.
Yes definitely! Did I mention that we teach every day, from 9am to 9pm? Meaning, no matter what your schedule is like, we will definitely find a time that works for you.
Sure, our instructor also conducts zoom classes for theory sessions but for the confined pool training, it has to be done at the pool with an instructor.
Yes you can and you will!
Yes you do! You will get a PADI Open Water Certificate!
Trips are not included in the course fee as we want to give our students the ability to take their time and complete their training, before heading to the trip of their choice to complete their certification dive.
Basic swimming will help, as you will be able to pick up the skills quicker. But your confident level of being in the water is most important. We do offer a 1 hour basic swim assessment where we will assess your level of confidence and swimming skills before taking up your scuba diving course.
